Luis & Amigos Tours · Belém, Jerónimos Monastery
Luis & Amigos meet you at the door of the Jerónimos Monastery, take you inside with the ticket in hand, then walk you to the bakery, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries) and Belém Tower. Book it for the monastery: the guides spend real time on the cloister and its carvings.

This tour starts where most end: at the South Portal of the Jerónimos church, in a patch of morning shade. The first hour is inside the monastery with your ticket, which the listing includes. Guests write about guides who explain the symbolism of the carvings, and the Manueline stone gives them plenty: ropes, armillary spheres, sea creatures.
After that the pace eases. Twenty minutes at Pastéis de Belém for a tart, ten in the Praça do Império garden, twenty at the Padrão and twenty at Belém Tower. Both monuments are seen from the outside. The Padrão's own ticket (EUR 10 in 2026, see the monument's ticket page) is not included, and neither is Belém Tower.
Two details from the listing. The skip-the-line monastery entry only applies to the morning departure. And on Sundays the Jerónimos church opens in the afternoon, so Sunday tours skip it. The listing allows up to 35 people, although one recent guest had a group of four; a private option exists if you want the guide to yourselves.
Meet in front of the church's South Portal, the carved doorway facing the street.
The cloister and, except on Sundays, the church with the tomb of Vasco da Gama.
A tart at the 1837 bakery a few doors along Rua de Belém.
The fountain and the garden between the monastery and the river.
Through the underpass to the monument and the wind rose. Outside only.
A walk along the river to the tower, seen from outside. The tour ends here.
★★★★★The group was small, only four people, and he set us immediately at ease with introductions and conversation, so it felt like traveling with a small group of friends. We started in Jeronimos Monastery, and spent a great deal of our time there. [...] I liked that we were able to jump the line.
★★★★★This was an amazing overall tour of Belem, we started early at the monestory and glad we did as it got very crowded when we got out. Luis was super knowledgeable [...] We also went to try the original pastel de belem pastery which was super yum!
★★★★★Frédérick was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. We had a good time! The pastel de nata was a great bonus!
